Starting a few initiatives inside to make space for queer talent. Some ideas are basic (the group, the Slack channel, having film nights, political activism, etc.), but has anyone seen or done anything they’re super proud of they wouldn’t mind sharing?

How’s your WFH workload, all? This week: Mon: 10 am - 2 am. Tues: 9 am-8 pm. Wed: 10 am-9 pm. Thurs: 10 am - 8 pm. Fri: 9:30 am-8 pm. Sat: 10 am - 7 pm. Sun: noon - 4 pm, then 7 pm - 11 pm.
This ... is ... not ... sustainable! I’m the sole earner and have a kid, so “just quit!” during a pandemic is not it - and “setting boundaries” ain’t easy when I’m always reachable by text/zoom/email. I’m fortunate to have a job, but damn. Working From Home = Working Forever From Everywhere. And it sucks.

Has anyone seen any unique places to find UX portfolios or post jobs other than the usual suspects?
Some UX Slack channels were doing well for a while but I definitely don’t see as much traction there. Meetups obviously came and went. Even the portfolio sites like Dribbble and Behance don’t seem that same.

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. I had 10 slots to choose from. I took the first slot available. Three were one day earlier this week and the rest are next week. Does it look good (or desperate, lol) on my part that I took the first time or should I have waited until next week so that I would be fresher on their minds when choosing a candidate? I’m curious, would anyone happen to have advice on convincing your client *not* to celebrate pride? Our customer base is roughly 95% highly conservative, super-masculine bla bla bla, and we’re all pretty confident it won’t sit well. It’s unfortunate, but as a gay man myself I can say I wouldn’t be impressed as our brand has nothing to do with anyone in the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, and I can only imagine our work being bombarded with hateful comments, which isn’t what anyone wants to encounter online

Hi! First time working with a larger company - suggestions on handling pronouns at work?

I’ve worked with smaller agencies where it was easier to bring up. Now I’m on a larger team, talking to/referencing people I’ve never met. I’m less concerned about my own pronouns and more concerned about how to make sure I’m using the correct pronouns for the people I work with.

I’ve been structuring sentences to avoid gender specific pronouns but would love to hear suggestions. Thanks!
