Sounds to me like she gamed him. 80k for a $10 job? Let that woman hustle. Smartest one in the room.
And by that I mean let her hustle for someone else. Agree that this clown can't offer her what she needs to reach her potential. Dump him before he drags the ship under.
I think it’s time to find a new job
I would coast at that job not caring one bit and in parallel, be searching for another one.
Sounds like your wife should look for a new job.
lol she should tell him good luck finding even an incompetent hire today for $10/hour
you can breathe and you can actually show up? $15/hr it is
15 isn’t enough especially lately. Last factory I was in was paying 17 and they had like a 30% absentee rate and about 20% of folks would actually show up for interviews. And this was a nice clean air conditioned place only about 30 minutes from a average size city.
Yeahhh either transfer internally to a more supportive team if possible, or start looking immediately.
Talk to a lawyer. That action alone will have an effect.
UPDATE: My wife just got an offer from a competitor with 130k base as a SENIOR analyst. 🥲

I love this for you both 💜

I really hope your wife finds a better job for more money! And please please tell her to send this article with her resignation letter to the clown show that she has as a manager.
Also please tell her to tell the manager that we consultants are coming to sack his job and his incompetent a**.
And in regards her confidence, she got this!! Screw that company and her manager. We are all rooting for her!

Yes yes yesssss!! Love the article with resignation suggestion, we are definitely daydreaming of the day. My wife loved everything about this response lol
Coast the work, take the pay, and don’t give an ounce more than necessary. Boss sounds toxic and resentful and that is no way to manage. Stay on job as long as she wants (key word) but bail as soon as she decides it’s time.
Mhmmm collect the check and keep it going until she’s finds a place that appreciates her. No longer have to worry about career advancement while she’s here.
NETFLIX on the job and for job search.

Sounds like a guy who deserves 0 notice on her last day.
McDonalds pays more than that. I would tell him to go find a burger flipper
Find another job. I had an experience really early in my career, my manager just had a dislike for me, what ever I do was never enough. Coaching was out of questions, constant putting down and finding flaws was the only thing that came my way
Sounds just like him, 0 coaching, looks for flaws like he’s building a case and constant negativity. He also compares her to her senior team members who have been at the company or in industry for years. Can’t wait for her exit opps to blossom.
Toxic
I wonder if this is some sort of reportable offense... not that I am recommending it but this will scare the HR department to the point where her boss may be the one needing a $10/hr job
Good point about the email being dated. We’ll have to look through the handbook, I’ve never heard of HR not being able to share company policy or what constitutes a violation (esp when it’s this clear). We are patiently building the case against him but our main priority is revamping her resume and upgrading.
