I had an interview with @cognizant all rounds done with HR AND Salary negotiation, after that I sent an email to them related to my offer status. However, they replied me as, we have kept you on hold etc.
And now @cognizant hr called me 3 times for job opening, and I have told them my offer is on hold. Now, they have scheduled interview. Is it for same or new. It's really confusing for me.
If they release old offer what we have discussed or they will interview me again

Base salary is a miniscule fraction of their comp. Their pay is based on stocks, so that they are incentivized to take actions that shareholders would approve of
In Twitter's case, according to CNBC "Agrawal has also been granted a stock award worth $12.5M, which will vest in 16 equal quarterly increments beginning February"
Overall comp for a C suite person at the top 10 tech companies could easily go to 25-30 mm a year and more than 150 MM for the CEO career.
One of my close uncle who retired as the CRO for a top 3 bank, has a net worth close to 250MM
But to OPs point, getting to ppmd is more achievable as compared to getting to C suite of big tech. Handful of thousands make to c suite vs hundreds make to ppmd every year. But again the TC is not even comparable- c suite makes several times more in RSUs.
1) a tech CEO or CFO’s salary is basically irrelevant. That’s not how they’re compensated. The new Google CFO got $25M worth of stock as a signing bonus and will get a $40M equity grant every other year.
2) making partner is hard, but it’s still far far more achievable from a statistical perspective than being a C suite exec. There are probably 10,000 US partners across MBB + B4. There’s 500 Fortune 500 CEOs and CFOs, and comp goes down (from $40M, not saying it’s low) pretty fast once you move away from the top spots.
Yes, 500 each…
lol sundar pichai earns around $1bn in 5 years due to RSUs
They make ridiculous amounts of money from RSUs
But to your point out of the top 3000 publicly traded companies in the world
Only 140 CEOs make more than $20M
More than 400 CEOs make more than $10M
And more than 1,400 CEOs make more than $5M
So as a partner in consulting you truly do make as much as billion dollars company’s CEOs
CCC1 that view can be misleading.
Top engineers are paid ridiculous amounts to keep them at the company as engineers. So it doesn’t matter if you are CEO - 10
You may actually be making more than your Director
Cash comp is to cover the household OPEX… stock comp covers the CAPEX :-)
Ex Managing Partner of McKinsey went to work for Goldman Sachs. Even though his salary is now a few multiples of his salary from McKinsey, he is not even C suite. I think he is two layers away from it.
Top corporate executives are paid incredibly high. For instance, some bank CEOs end up being billionaires.
Almost no bank CEOs are becoming billionaires anymore. Those were just the early guys who cashed out in the IPOs. David Solomon isn’t worth close to that
Base is probably closer to $500k, then profit etc / RSUs go on top for MBB partners
And ain’t no 3-4 year Big 4 partner catching a Mill straight money.
lol at PwC inflation
Tik toc pays better too https://t.co/r7EMpkrBWp
Google was one of the companies I bought at pandemic lows. It has literally given me almost 3x returns in 2 years while being very reasonably valued.
The reason Elliott went after Dorsey was, he didn’t have his heart at Twitter as he owns only 2% of it compared to a whopping 12% or so of Block.
Stock compensation is a huge benefit at big tech.
Look up the SEC filing for Ruth Porat’s comp this year. It’s $1M base, $2M ESG performance bonus, ~$23M GSUs and RSUs
