How supportive are your companies when it comes to taking PTO for mental health days?

A partner just walked from his office. By passed 4 or 5 people who are generally more knowledgeable on our banking logistics straight to the only black support staff employee to@ask if today is a bank holiday.

Have been sober for many years but currently relapsed and am in a downward spiral. I’m close to losing my family but I can’t seem to get my head together. Feel like I need a few months out, maybe take some time off work… has anyone done similar and did it help?

Question for folks in here who work at a company with unlimited PTO/vacation - how do you manage this from being abused by employees?

Do you work the holidays into your lesson plans this time of year? Or is it too much of a distraction from your routine? Teaching a SPED music class this year and the students have finally *mostly* become comfortable in the room and with the instruments + noise. We usually work on the same songs each week for one month, but I'm thinking of switching it up and doing Christmas/Holiday songs next week as a send off into break. I work with mostly autistic students.

I am so beyond ready to leave my current job, but can’t yet, since bonuses are paid out in January. 😬

In the meantime, I’ve applied to a lot of similar roles (slightly higher) but have not heard - good or bad - from any. Is it common for companies to slow down hiring in December because of Q4 rush, people on holiday, etc.?

I’m in a little of a pickle but a good one. Offer A. Established “start up” doing well financially and projected to hit profitability. 130k base. Stocks offered, unlimited PTO, and 70% Medical covered. Offer B. Is at a business much larger…90k salary with 10% bonus and generous stock offering. Titles are different which is why the pay is much different. I know some may think it is a no brainer but offer A allows me to grow the department ground up whereas offer B id be apart of to just different

I feel like all of my friends who work in tech are very open about their starting salaries and the increases each year. I am going to work in public accounting and I feel like when I look up how much I will make after being promoted or early promoted it’s very cryptic. Can anyone tell me the standard salary % increase in PA after your first, second, third promotion?

Sales tax question...if I purchase a gym membership in a state that doesn't tax gym fees and then use that membership at the gym's chain in another state that taxes gym memberships or admission fees, is tax due to the 2nd state (does the gym chain owe tax in the 2nd state upon my usage)?

I have a tenant who is late on rent after having JUST signed an updated lease last month when we bought the property from the previous owner. He has a history of being late on rent. He paid 8 days late and the check bounced. He is now 17 days late and saying the late fees are too much and unfair. Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?
