I joined KGS in feb 2022, we recently got a mail regarding timeline of appraisal and bonus payout from the partner. My reporting manager hasn't yet reached out to me regarding goal setting, not sure if that happens here. Can you pls help me to know what all things we need to do from our end for the appraisal cycle and bonus payout? Since I'm new to this company KPMG KPMG India

I'm not quite as high up as you, but have been pub side in a sales department of a very well respected company for about a year. It's totally different from what I was expecting and has been very management heavy. There's not much actual "work" to be done, just making sure other people are working and even they don't do a whole lot compared to what you're used to seeing juniors and mid-level employees do at agencies. For me, it's been boring af. But if you're looking for a slower pace, secure, probably standard 9-5, it's a good place to go after a career agency side. It may possibly be shocking for you though, as it's been a super tough transition for me... I'm waiting for my bonus and then will hopefully be moving on.
Sometimes new experiences can give perspective. Gone are the days of staying at one place. Do it. I’m in same boat.
It 100% depends on the publisher. What you sell is more important than how good you are at selling. What's the opportunity?
Agency media bro of 13th years having similar machinations. Curious to know more, happy to share.
It's head of sales and product strategy at a major content publisher. Definitely a good product with solid footing and growth potential. Not a commodity product which is important with all the ad tech products out there who's offerings are all so similar to one another.
Head of sales? Have you ever sold media? Do you understand MMM, MTA basic analytics
Have you managed sellers? They are not Account People.
I've never managed sellers, no. But I've managed media agencies and large media teams. While the skill sets certainly have major differences, I'm confident in my ability to make that transition. But yes I understand MMM and MTA...
If you're a media agency exec you will be well positioned. Only sadness in publisher side is how competitive it is and hard to drive large sales in a world dominated by the duopoly. But we need content to survive. Best of luck.
