I’m moving from senior accountant to a financial analyst role in two weeks. I used LinkedIn and looked at others career paths and he is correct that both options are common moves.

What you do next depends on what you like best about accounting now. An assistant controller role will be more tactical/history vs an fpa role being more strategic/forward looking.

I’m in my 4th year at a small plaintiffs’ firm. Past two years I’ve received meager raises (5k) and terrible bonuses (3k). My boss prides himself on allowing me to gain experience so I have more courtroom experience than most attorneys with twice the experience. As I’ve applied for other firms, I’ve been denied interviews based on how my boss is perceived in the community. I’ve gathered professional references from opposing attorneys and other attorneys we work with but still can’t land. Help
