Yes, just be reasonably smart about your spending. It’s not ball out money but it’s more than most young professionals in the city.
It’s doable. I’m doing it. But I maintain my lifestyle of being a broke ass so…
Possible? Yes. Comfortable? No.
Depends on your definition of “comfortably”… I lived by myself in a small studio ($1650 plus electric and wifi) on about a $60k salary in 2019 but I also didn’t have any student loans… definitely still didn’t dine out or do a lot of other fun but costly activities as much as I would’ve liked
Roommates make it a lot easier in terms of splitting rent and other utilities
Doable but just barely comfortable
No. I make about that and live alone in NYC. Luckily my rent is a bit under market rate, but if it wasn’t I’d be in big trouble. I do put 16% of my pay into my 401(k). Not a lot left over for fun, some of course but barely. Going away on a vacation? Ha!
Not as comfortable as other cities but nyc is expensive for a reason- it’s the best! Also really depends on your lifestyle/living arrangements
You’ll be fine just might need a roomie and won’t be able to save a ton if you want to take advantage of the city
Roommates for sure.
You can do it.
Definitely. You just need a couple of roommates to help split rent.
Yeah if you have roommates or an s/o you live with… back in the day, yes but these days… no. I say this as I’m forced to accept 75k jobs. Salaries I had when I was 22.
