Those of you who worked in audit and are now in private/industry, is the grass truly greener on the other side? Audit is killing me. But if private is worth it in the end then I’ll stick audit out a little longer for a good exit opportunity.

I have been at my company for 3.5 years. One year ago (2.5 years into my employment with them) they re-leveled everyone and I was bumped to an entry level position on the terms that they changed my job title when they re-leveled, so “technically” I am at the early stages of my new title. Even though the job duties did not really change.
I’m not sure the best way to approach this. Has anyone else had a similar experience or know how I should advocate for myself?

Had an interview today, for RN OnCall position. This is an extremely difficult position, but I bring not only a preference to work the hours they need but the experience and credentials to qualify for the upper range of the salary (RN, MSN, CHPN, 5 years hospice experience). I asked for the range and he gave the range then immediately stated that I would qualify for mid range. My goal is to find a similar position to the one I’m working now and add 20-30% to my income, the high range would meet

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.

I have done oracle analytics work for about 8 years and for last 2 years been working in azure. I am wondering if OAC still worth to pursue. Planning to go back doing oracle analytics cloud . If so anyone hiring?

What does a person do who doesn’t find any industry accounting jobs interesting? I’ve been trying to leave for 3-4 years and the only thing that interests me is people focused roles such as sales. I considered recruiting but I’m jaded based on my interactions with most. Public accounting is a decent spot for me but I’m wanting a more consistent schedule of 40-50 and the self centered/dog eat dog culture of my firm continues to crush my soul more and more the longer I stay.

I always bill 100% of my time and for my entire career in public accounting I have never heard anything negative until recently.. I was told to watch my time as the client doesn’t like to pay these fees, and the partner is unhappy because it looks like I have high hours. Is the message that I should eat my time? Or is it that They think I’m inefficient?

If I move to industry, how much vacation, sick days, and parental leave as a father should I expect as a senior auditor?
