Strategy folks - how do you get good at … strategy? Recently started at a startup in a role where I’m the only person under the head of our product team who handles the strategy-focus of the company. He wants me to take more ownership from him and I want to crush it but have no relevant experience here and am still fairly junior. Any books or classes? Or is it just trial by fire.
Interview tomorrow and recruiter encouraged me to have notes out to keep track of my stories (5 interviews, 1 hour each). Should I acknowledge and ask each interviewer if it's ok for me to have notes out? I feel like it'd feel weird for me to very obviously glance at my screen after a question every once in a while without acknowledging what's going on or asking permission.
I’m a Junior accountant, recent MBA grad in Finance, located in NYC, just got laid off due to a merger. Anybody hiring or know any opening positions?

Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Is letting a recruiter know you are in the final stages of another interview good or bad if you value the company more? (value the company where the interviewer it’s being emailed). Will they actually help speed up the process?

Folks - how do you prep for case interviews in half a week? Any resources you would point me towards? It’s been over 5 years since I last had interviews. Sure I am in consulting but I honestly don’t do this thing on the day to day so am very sure will be very rusty.
Had final interview at startup with CEO and would-be direct supervisor and at the end they were using language like "you'll be our first [name of role]"... Does this mean I basically got it, or should I not read into it? I'll find out soon anyway, but appreciate any speculation 😅
Just had a look at some start-ups that are hiring and a lot of them offer unlimited vacation days... think this is a good practice?
Have first rounds with McK and BCG in two weeks (undergrad) and am liberal arts major. I’m nervous about math portion of case interviews - any resources for practice case math outside of rocket blocks? Or general advice?
What are the potential benefits of working at a deals oriented firm (e.g., LEK, S& Deals, EY-P) as compared to the more traditional Big 4 MC type roles at the post-M level? Really struggling with putting in the hours for the deals centric role as I’m not 100% sure of the longer term payoff (besides short term slight bump in comp).
New to this…with Amex Platinum what is the best / most economical use of your points? I see you can cover charges on the card as well.

Potential agency boomerang having a hard time making a decision to stay brand-side or go back. Need some advice! Do I leave the brand, being "the client," fun work, great WLB, as well as the most toxic work environment I've ever experienced and meh pay? Do I go back to agency lead a new team with significant responsibilities, forget about WLB, sell my soul alongside smart people, get great pay and benefits? PS: I'm a mom and brand-side for 5 years. What do I need to know!? Thank you!
Hey Deloitte guy who tries to post about Biden’s declining mental health everyday...where you at Lou?
Hi all - I’m working as a Jr AE at a remote agency. Before full-time at this agency, I interned there for 2 years and often did pro-bono work. I love my company so much, but I often feel stuck when it comes to salary and growth. The salary is minimum wage and every time I ask about a raise they agree I need one but never get around to it. Today, I was offered a position at another agency as a remote AE with more than double my current salary. I didn’t seek this job out but don’t know what to do.
I’m a jr M&A associate with a second round interview at Arnold and Porter. Any insight (the practice, environment, etc) firm wide and specifically NY office would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
