All airlines are super risky rn. I don't think any of them are a "steal" right now. I wouldn't buy in until the fall if it were me, once signs of economic recovery were at least visible. There is still so much uncertainty right now.

See the post a couple down about PwC OP gettin burned by DAL

Ahh just saw that post after I asked. Thanks!

Robinhood users are scooping up airline stock which is all I need to know to stay away from the category

Yeah Warren Buffett closes out Berkshire’s entire position in DAL so I’d stay away

I just found out that I am no longer eligible for any of the income driven repayment plans and my monthly federal loan payment is increasing to $1400 a month and will increase on a yearly basis up to $2400. That is my cheapest option. However, if I refinance with a private lender to a lower interest rate, it will be $2k a month for 15 years and I’ll save like $120k in interest over the life of the loan. Has anyone refinanced their fed loans with a private lender? Should I do it?

Hello all,

I’m a recent graduate of masters and currently have 2 offers in my hand.

1) One with CITI Bank with 100k salary and no sign on bonus and as it is in my home town as I stay with my family needs no relocation bonus required.

2) This is with American Airlines in Dallas Fort Worth which offered 100k + 10k bonus + 18k relocation bonus (required)

Which ofer should I consider given I’m a new graduate and this is going to be my first job. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Someone pls educate me on 401ks! If I earn 80k and my employer does a dollar for dollar match up to 3% of my contribution and then 50 cents on the dollar match for the next 2% I contribute, would the breakdown look like this:

3% employee contribution: 2400
2% employee contribution: 1600
First 3% employee match at 100%: 2400
Second 2% employee match at 50%: 800

Or is it based on the 19,500 401k max amount?

Looking for advice on what to do with a lot of cash. Wife and I were planning to buy a house and kept a lot of cash in HYSAs (~300k, about 30% of non-real estate net worth).

For various reasons, we’ve decided to postpone buying a house and now I want to put this to better use. I’ve been responsible about maxing 401k, etc.. so now I’m looking for the smartest next move that helps grow but is also relatively stable.

Should I just put it all in VOO? put some in bonds? Put it all on black?

I just realized I’ll likely have a MAGI of over $124,000 this year and will have to reduce the amount I contribute to my Roth IRA. I don’t know exactly by how much and I’ve already contributed about $1,900 directly through my Roth IRA. Does anyone know if I can still do a backdoor Roth IRA for the remainder of the $6,000? Is there any way to avoid over-contributing to my Roth IRA by the amount I already put in there?

Looking for a friendly discussion here... don’t know if there is a straight forward answer, but why are we allowed to put more in a 401k vs an IRA? They are essentially the same thing (correct me if I’m oversimplifying) with the main difference being 401ks are provided by employers. Do you feel like this could be a contributor to the wealth gap? 401ks are more of the norm at white collar jobs and a lot of companies don’t offer one. Is it fair? Talk to me.
