Buying any travel shares right now is basically gambling. Airlines will definitely go bankrupt without some near term support, which could mean $0 for equity holders...
Govt. can’t allow every airline to go bankrupt... operational impact would be huge. I think they will support at least Delta is nothing more.
Screw all airlines. They've spent the last decade buying back stock to inflate the share price so that executives get paid more in bonuses. Let them go bankrupt and liquidate them.
If my money manager spent 10 years buying a stock at 25 times earnings and now said that I should stop buying now that it is trading at 5 times earnings and doesn't know what to do with cash (or worse yet burned through all my cash)...I'd fire them.
Sometimes mo-fos gotta burn to learn their lesson.
Delta better
Delta given Junk bond status. Ignore which airlines you use. Cramer and other recommendations United (if you must pick an airline).
Just invested a minor sum (read: play money/OK to lose it all) in the big three airlines. Thanks OP, great idea!
Markets closed and once they go thru Monday the market will probably drop a lot more especially airlines since nobody will want to travel for the next few months..
Just buy a diverse basket of airlines. There is no way the entire industry goes down, and prices are so low you’ll likely end up very ahead in the long term (in particular for young investors)
