Thoughts on what’s going on with air travel disruption and staff shortages at Newark? Is it really that bad?

400 FAA personnel were fired. Pretty clear what’s going on

Planned construction. There is an advisory on the Newark Airport homepage about it. Why post here before doing a simple Google search?

likefunny

Yeah, Counsel 1… why not first conduct a simple Google search to see what’s going on before you come here to condescendingly (and erroneously) finger-wave someone else, telling them to do a Google search? 🙄

For expert witnesses/lawyers

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

Car question: is it common/easy to extend a lease? Mine is up next month and I don’t want to get into a new lease when I’m wfh for the foreseeable future. Not sure if dealers would consider this favorable for them, or if I have any leverage to renegotiate price. Or is this is even an option.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
