WilmerHale is not in the same league as Cooley/Wilson Sonsini for ECVC
WH ECVC is collapsing…
The WH ECVC group is non-existent in NY. I don’t believe there is a single ECVC partner left in that office…and then generally the group is dead firm-wide.
In NY, I would say Cooley > WSGR. After WSGR lost the NY ECVC team to Cooley in 2017, it’s trying to re-build new team but that office always has high turnover rate. WilmerHale, really? I give Wilmer 5 star for morale standard (same as Cooley, 0 for WSGR), but we are talking about ECVC here. Be serious.

That’s right. ^^

Gotcha. Ive been out for a couple of years so didnt follow.
There is a similar post on this from a few weeks ago, but agree with previous comments that WilmerHale is not what it was, so don't go there. Cooley NY will get you good reps and practice, but they have open office, 4 day mandate, and toxic/sexist (more so than other Big Law offices) culture in NY particularly; go if you want practice and eventually leave, for in hour or partner elsewhere.
The new managing partner for WSGR is in NY, so they're serious about trying to grow their office there. You could be part of the culture building, but you will have to put in effort to get staffed on good matters at WSGR NY, but it's not as dysfunctional as Cooley's NY office.
Came back to this post to comment. WSGR 1, you still believe NY corp is that amazing given the fact that team only has few juniors and two super seniors left, all midlevel associates resigned in the past few months? Very soon that team will have more partners than associates. People leave this time of the year but not at this speed. Maybe new managing partner’s plan is to shrink NY practice size🤣

Easily Cooley of this bunch. Wilmer is a wasteland as the thread intimates.
