Hello fishes,
I have a background in finance and 6+ YOE of professional work experience, I had to leave CA in between due to family emergency and started working (although only 1 group of CA final is left, 1 is cleared already), so can anyone provide an insight if being CA qualified is a mandatory requirement in EY and EY GDS in position of Manager in Accounting, auditing,FAAS,AWM teams etc
Would appreciate any insight, as seems HR everywhere just see degree and not the relevant work ex..

Hi All,
I joined Tech Mahindra for 5 days only and didn't find suitable timing for my project and emailed resignation mail to manager and HR. After that HR asked me to resign over portal but at the same time blocked my portal. After requesting many times they didn't unblock my portal and pretended like they want to unblock but there is some issue going on and marked my profile absconded. I have cleared fnf but they are not providing reliving letter but added pf amount also. What to do?

Hey congrats to you manager at 25. I commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant at 25, of course I served and trained for 7 years to get to that level, but STILL, I was a NEW officer, even though I had experience. I think the best thing you can do is be confident in your abilities, and let your team know you are there for them. You are there to guide the project down the right glide path, and if your team is creating disfunction, you need to address those issues immediately with those individuals, AND let it be known to the team as a group, what the expectations are, and what you are observing, both good and bad. Don't let those older folks get to you. If it's any consolation, I'm 32, new to the company, and I'm intimidated by you young studs who moved up so fast at Accenture. 😬
Surprised nobody mentioned servant leadership yet. Your leadership is a service and as a younger manager it is easier to show others you are there to make them successful. Give more credit than you take. If the team still underperforms, be proactive and transparent with leadership and you won't take flak.
Most of all, don't fall into the trap of "proving" you're a manager; nobody likes being bossed.
Walk in tomorrow, call a team meeting, and beat the snot out of the oldest guy in the room
OP- I'm in the same boat. No one cares about your age if you don't act your age
A.B.C. Always be closing. Watch the Alec Baldwin Glengarry Glenn Ross scene. Give them that speech.
Accenture calling 25 year olds with about 2-3 years experience a manager is what is wrong with consulting and a absolute sham. What do you even advise clients about?
Wow, thanks for all the negativity pals. Really cheered up my Thursday flight. I have 3 years experience and have had some lucky outcomes with projects that made me manager early, as I have a specific set of high value skills. Not here to brag, here to solicit help from people in similar situations. I'll go talk to my lead.
Lived it in the Army. You're the boss. Take care of your people. Don't do stupid things or give stupid guidance. You'll be fine.
I don't know. I agreee with OP. I'm a manager on a team of managers as project lead. Much younger than the others. It's been very difficult to get everyone in line. Lack of quality. Lack of meeting deadlines.
No need to bash P4 guys. I get that sometimes as young managers, we can feel inadequate because of our lack of experience. But sometimes that can make us blind to real reasons why our teams are not performing.
Don't p4. The people saying this shit to you are insecure experienced hires.
I guess my issues are not with my behavior, I'm a really nice person and manager, though saying that makes it appear as though I'm not. My question was unclear, how do I deal with some of them being quite resentful towards my level?
P4- you're a crappy manager then, they shouldnt have promoted you. Ever thought of that?
Thanks guys. Already feeling shitty about all of it.
A mix of skill, emotional intelligence, manipulation, and blind luck.
A2, my favourite colleagues have been veterans, make sure you're engaging with the veteran network. They are very strong and very helpful.
Be a human. Be clear. Teach and inform, hold people accountable, be level headed, and engage them. Age doesn't matter if you: know your shit, aren't an ass, include everyone, tell them when they rock, develop them, and hold people accountable when they miss the mark.
Everyone saying age doesn't matter is missing a bit of the bigger picture too. It does matter. In a culture where promotion is still very linear and hierarchial, many will feel jaded that a 25 yr old is a manager and they are not. Even if they are new to the company, they may feel they should've been brought in at a higher level.
I hope you treat younger folks with respect, and show the same respect for older team members too. Is the team pretty culturally diverse ?
^are we going for the "respect in the slammer" strategy now?
