HNY all! I have multiple rollover and traditional IRAs, as well as a solo 401k. But (since I started paying attention to this kind of thing) have always been over the income limit to start a Roth IRA. I’ve also not done much contributing in the last few years due to purchasing an apartment and saving for renovations. Cue pandemic joblessness... if married filing separately, would you say it’s a good idea to start a Roth while under the income limit, even in this climate? Any reason not to?

Does anyone regret joining a boutique consulting firm? I signed with a startup out of college (spring 2020) whose founding partners were all partners/Sr leaders at a few T2s. Our firm is super small (dozen FTEs) but does really good work (we charge premium rates and work super cool projects). I work on short-term projects with very scrutinized budgets, yet my utilization is supposed to be 100%, so my hours are scrutinized by the teams I work with and leadership. I just received my last paycheck from my company with 160 hours of vacation supplement on it. I didn’t have any vacation days left when I resigned. Is this an accident? Will my former company come after me for this money? It’s a little under $10k..

I am signing an offer this week at a different consulting firm, but want to stick it out through my project at my current firm over the next month. (Actually really enjoy the project just think the other firm is a better fit).

Am I obligated (morally or otherwise) to tell my firm that I’ve signed another offer? Or is it ok to stay on and work?

(Don’t have to start at the new firm for another month after that).
