Ultra minimalists: what are you carrying for a wallet and in your wallet?
I have a slim wallet but thinking of reducing further.
Driver's license and 1 cc are the bare minimum.

But I keep wondering about:
Auto insurance card
Health insurance card
A $100 bill for unforeseen emergency

But perhaps I don't need them?

Does anyone use one of those phone case minimalist wallets?
What do you have in it?

Money clip, DL + 1 cc + ~$100 in assorted bills

(Carry some cash, you never know when you’ll need it)

Recommendations for money clips?

DL
College student ID from definitely only a few years ago
$20 in $1s
My first $2 bill
A vintage $10,000 bill
Corporate CC
Personal CC
Joint personal CC
Health insurance card
HSA card
Emergency contacts card
Passport card
2 business cards
A blank check
My AARP card
My AAA card
My Diners Club card

I keep it all in a trifold wallet. Pretty sure this is the definition of minimalist.

Might as well carry a purse at this point

Slim wallet (4 items) = 1 cc, 1 debit card, driver's license, $20 (not many places accept $100 or $50 bill), and a picture of my son (I read somewhere that people who find your wallet will most likely return your lost wallet if there was a baby picture). Healthcare & auto insurance are digital. The slim wallet has a key holder = 1 house key, 1 Apple Airtag (has better coverage than Tile)

ID, personal credit card, corporate credit card, and a $20 bill (most places that won’t take card just have a $10 limit). I have photos of my insurance card and other cards in my mobile wallet.

I was also talking about my health insurance. Why wouldn’t you just keep your car insurance and etc in your car? I don’t think most people keep it in their wallet…

They might ticket you but what would they arrest you for lol

I don't use a phone case, but have a slim card holder, and like you mentioned have my ID, and two credit cards. I keep virtual copies of my health insurance, etc. should I need it. I rarely touch my wallet unless I'm doing sit-down dining or if get IDed. I just tap pay with my phone. I've been occasionally inconvenienced by not having cash, but have found creative solutions through the kindness of strangers. Venmo-ing someone at a cash only joint, etc.

Hair tie to bind 4 or 6 cards together. Nothing else.

helpful

Id, credit card, corporate card, gym card, a few notes & a guitar pick

All in a smythson card holder, can't recommend it enough - the quality is top notch and it's one of those IYKYK luxury things

Pretty sure ultra minimalists don’t have wallets…or drivers licenses…or insurance.

I’ve been using the spigen wallet phone case (Slim Armor CS) for as long as I can remember and I’m obsessed. I refuse to look at any other case and will only upgrade my phone when their new case comes out. I cannot begin to tell you how I have dropped my phones over the years and not a scratch…off a second story banister onto a tiled floor and nothing. Ok not nothing, the sliding part where the cards go popped off and the cards went flying, but it went right back on and the phone was completely unharmed.

It’s said to keep 2 credit cards in there but I can always fit 3 if one is slim and sometimes something extra like a hotel room key or a $20 bill. I love that you can’t tell it’s a wallet case. I don’t need everyone around me knowing that I have cash and cards hanging from the back of my phone. The only problem is it’s heavy, but if I endorse anything in this world it’s this phone case

I was about to buy a $400 wallet that pretty much looks like that, lol

I have the ridge. It’s great.

There is a knockoff on Amazon called the Rossm for a fraction of the cost. Same exact product as the real one and love it

Driver license, concealed carry card, Amex card , Visa card and that is it. Problem is the Amex and Visa cards are thick metal.

In Sparta Systems I will be working on Salesforce and cross technologies (Java, AWS). Sparta has offered me 16LPA and KPMG has offered 14.5 LPA fixed and other company benefits. Should I go for a brand or Sparta in terms of learning and career growth. Money is not a concern here. Thanks in advance for any valuable suggestions.

First 8 weeks as an Associate after jumping from Big4:

Pros - super smart/driven colleagues, more unique/interesting work, more ownership, benefits are awesome, traveling frequently, more technical work, more frequent feedback

Cons - hours are worse, much faster timelines, having to learn the BCG way quickly, much higher expectations, less ability to choose cases

Overall very happy with the switch so far - happy to answer any questions!

Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.

Telehealth is an amazing opportunity right now. Amwell and teledoc. Crazy cheap because of reopening, but the trend isn’t going anywhere and CMS keeps expanding what they will reimburse. Plus telehealth is expanding into remote care monitoring and devices and chronic condition monitoring.

I’m working with a leader from LinkedIn Sales Solutions and they want me to come speak to their team on how consulting sells so they can better support professional services firms. I’m trying to figure out an easy framework to explain it. What are some specific nuances of our selling that I’m missing:

1. Practice: Function vs. industry vs. Account

2. Pipeline: BD to find opps vs. RFPs

3. People: MDs/Partners are the “sellers” but analysts, managers, and SMs do a lot of the heavy lifting

Have you had to change your start date after accepting an offer and how did it go? I told them I need to give 30 day notice and so I set my start date (incorrectly) assuming the background check and drug screen would take a few days to clear. However, the drug screen is now taking over a week and a half (still not finished, maybe tomorrow). Apparently things are much slower due to staffing issues and labs are backed up. It’s cutting into my 30 day notice significantly. Thoughts?
