Upon return from Short-term Disability for mental health reasons for 6 weeks, I was put on "of counsel" status, my compensation based solely on hours I bill and get paid. I'm getting no work. Fishy?

Looking for life advice. I have insurance but I almost never use it because the health care system scares me. I went to a family doctor back in September 2020 because my mom forced me to. The doctor made me take a blood test (covered by insurance) and then made me come back in a week otherwise they wouldn’t disclose the results of my blood test. I got charged $125 and $75 for the two visits directly by doc. Now on my insurance says I still need to pay $68 and $137 despite having paid that amount

Not advertising related but recently I’ve found out I have a massive cyst on my ovary and it shouldn’t have gotten that large. I’m on birth control and it should have helped but I want to try and start having a family this next year. I’m just afraid that if this can happen while I’m on birth control how will it be when I come off. I’m just lost and wish female health was more understood. My doctor can’t give me any answers except wait to see in 6 weeks. Any words of encouragement would be great!

COVID is really grinding me and my group into the ground. I've been repeating for a few months now that everyone should make sure to put their emotional and mental health first. I tell the team to commit to things wisely, be honest when you can't meet your commitments, and let people know early so we can adapt. But I have a few people who are genuinely doing no work. When I push them on it, they become combative. Not my reports, fwiw, but under my direction. Anyone else dealing with this?

I got an annual check up done in February with co A , PPO medical plan w Aetna. Now I am with co B end opted for high deductible plan with UHC. Annual is covered in high deductible plan. I have run into a health issue and need another checkup. Could I go for another annual under UHC with a different doc?

How to deal with one sided friendships? I have a friend whom I’ve been there for countless times (the only one there for both her breakups, job issues, etc), and am always checking in with her about her mental health, making plans, and generally keeping up. She, however, never initiates, has kinda just walked away when I needed her most, and most recently started excluding me from our group events. People who make 250K+ - do you still feel like you need / want more? Do you have a number in mind that you think is enough? Do you think you will need more when you reach it?

How do you guys actually deal with the stress from our jobs? And please don't give me the "I work out" or I "Go for runs" tropes..that stuff does not help with the day to day stress of our industry. How do you guys deal with it on a daily basis?

This may be a hot take - but as a younger person, working with parents of small kids (especially new parents) is so frustrating. I frequently find myself responsible for picking up the slack due to their family commitments - it’s also somehow completely socially acceptable for kids to barge into zoom meetings screaming. I wouldn’t find it nearly as bothersome if I felt like leadership and parent colleagues took my issues and non work commitments seriously in addition to that of parents and kids
