Wanted to get some input on my career. I’m currently a product management intern at a big tech company (think LinkedIn, Spotify, Adobe, etc.). I’m also currently in the middle of FT MBB consulting recruiting. Is it worth it to continue recruiting for MBB consulting or should I just take the tech PM return offer? Is the grind in consulting worth it or is big tech PM a better place to be at?

What are your long term goals? Lots of MBB want to exit to Tech PM, so that tells you something.

I would continue to recruit MBB. Lot's is up in the air right now in tech. Even if you do a great job, there is no guarantee you will get a return offer. And as much as people are whining about MBB, and it is up or out, they seem to be doing pretty well. The layoff are coming from other sectors, tech being one.

And you might as well name the company. It's not like your the only internet they have and the company may make a difference in the response you get.

Thanks for the advice! I definitely feel that I would enjoy working in tech more in the long-term, but I also want to keep myself open to other possible career paths since I'm just a college student and I feel like I shouldn't pigeon hole myself into something super early when I have relatively little experience.

As for the company, it's Adobe with a focus on AI products.

Hi all! My brother has 8 YOE post his Masters with a US bank in their rates trading division as a software developer- managing, supporting and developing software for pricing trade executions, risk management and reporting requirements for the trading desk. He wants to pivot out of banking and maybe look for an opportunity with FAANG or with MBB/Tier2 consulting. Any inputs on how to go about this transition, what hiring managers look for and if consulting is an option? TIA
