We all deserve to work 100% remote, with a six figure salary, flexible + unlimited paid time off, paid healthcare, and retirement benefits.

…Like this shouldn’t be a controversial stance. Right?

It shouldn’t be at all but the unfortunate reality is that we live in a greedy money hungry society that only cares about hoarding money and doing so by any means (thievery, enslavement, dishonesty, murder, etc.

While I’m not sure a fresh 22 year old graduate deserves this, it sounds nice for a mid career person who doesn’t aspire to an executive role.

At the risk of upsetting your favorite TikTok’s law of attraction guru….We don’t get what we think we deserve. It’s a market thing. Sometimes is time to move jobs, sometimes it’s better to stay put. There will be a time to ask for remote work again. And “unlimited” time off. It’s a trap.

like

What we deserve and what we get, ah, there's something to contemplate on a cold winter's night. Some of what you're saying shouldn't be controversial. Though the remote work has become weirdly inflammatory, some of these old celebrity CEOs really get crazy over that. Go figure, you'd think they'd want us out of their sight, and instead it's the opposite.

Right? So true

Consider this: If relying on business owners and CEOs to provide these opportunities equally across the board is necessary, why not create them for yourself? The fact that you haven’t taken that step highlights the same challenges that make the model you’re proposing ineffective.

In many cases, business owners and top executives have put everything on the line—risking their time, money, and security—to build what they have. Their success comes from sacrifice, perseverance, and making difficult decisions. Now, imagine a system where those who haven’t taken on that level of risk are entitled to the same rewards. Would that be fair? Would it create an environment where leadership thrives, or one where decision-making stalls, resentment grows, and opportunities for advancement are stifled?

A model based solely on workforce equality, without recognizing individual effort and risk, could ultimately lead to a stagnant system—one where no one takes responsibility, jealousy replaces ambition, and growth beyond a current role becomes nearly impossible.

Not controversial but does overly simplify something as complex as the economy and many market forces that influence employment opportunities.

I lateraled into a niche practice group in Sept 2021. I also have a 1 year old and have been mostly remote since I started - but have been keeping busy tracking towards 2400-2500 hours. Yesterday my main partner asked me to come in Thursday bc he will be there and set a time to meet. Is this good/bad?? kind of nervous!

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. Brigadeiro are scrumptious dulce de leche caramel bonbons, a beloved confection of Brazil. Brigadeiro is made from sweetened condensed milk, butter, and cocoa powder which is heated in a saucepan until it thickens and becomes a sticky caramel. Once it cools, it is rolled into a ball and dipped in multicolored sprinkles.

The iconic bonbon was named after Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, a 1946 presidential candidate. It was created to win voter support. (He lost).
