Received negative feedback from my manager for the first time, I’ve been working for a few months now and this is the first time it’s happened; over arching theme was quality of work and communications etc. feel really shitty about it and I’m not sure how to deal - any fellow female fishies have words of advice or anecdotal insights, did you manage to turn it around? I really want to do a good job and take this very seriously - def want to leave the project on good terms with the manager

Heard that there will be an Instacart driver strike next week due to taking on tons of risk for low pay and no benefits. How will this impact you?
Ok...thoughts on staying at current firm after giving notice? They gave me everything I wanted and better benefits. Tempted to stay... I was mostly leaving for better pay and future career prospects (partner eventually). Current firm offer: 95k for 1500 hours; 3% 401k match; 12 weeks full salary paid maternity leave; 20% equity in the firm; small firm (5 attorneys) Already accepted offer: 115k 1900 hours; potential to become partner; 6 weeks paid maternity leave; national firm. ...bad to stay?

Pro-bono personal assignment: I want to send a deck/recommendation to domestic insurance companies, trying to have them buy into an insurance discount for anyone wearing a motorcycle airbag vest and/or airbag pants. Which stakeholders/roles should I generally reach out to on their org charts? And for my analysis are statistics from the web sufficient, or would I need to Ioop in an actuary? Any legal advice?
Hi, I am hired as senior test engineer for automation testing profile in EY AND WIPRO The reason I am not selecting EY is just because I don't have any practical exposure working in automation testing and I am afraid that it's better to work in Wipro and get practical exposure and then try for big brands like EY. Also, in EY I will be asked to work in client location. Where I might get into difficult situation Anyone would like to comment on this? Is my decision of selecting wipro correct?
Campus hire. Few months late but enrolling in my 401K and going to do a Roth, as well. I keep seeing that you should “maximize” both. What does that mean? Is there a calculation or common principle?
If you just got staffed on a project and it’s not what you expected or thought it would be, can you roll off without retaliation or a Scarlett letter for other managers? It’s been a month
Renters/homeowners/earthquake insurance ?: I’m reviewing my renewal policy docs for my renters and earthquake policies (im in Los Angeles). I’m 32F 🐠 single no kids. I own enough stuff to fill a 2 bedroom apartment if one room were an office/misc storage stuff. Currently am in a 4bd/4bath town house with 2 roommates. I’ve had these policies for 10+ years but truthfully haven’t read or paid much attention to limits or terms in the past (I also didn’t own much for most of that time).
Finding it hard to continue as an attorney after 10 years as a very happy litigator doing insurance defense work including trials. Courts have been closed for over a year (I practice in NYC) and it does not look like I’ll ever have the lifestyle I once had and loved, going to court and depositions every day. Billable hours seem impossible without court and life has just gotten so gravely boring. Anyone else feeling lost? I’ve spent the entire last year trying to figure out where to go from here

Have about ~25k sitting in ROTH TSP. Calculators forecast that’ll be worth about north of~200k by the time I hit retirement at an average rate of 10% growth. Would it make more sense to roll it over into employer (Vangaurd) 401k plan to have more buying power of certain funds? Or are the expense fees that good and low in the TSP that I should just keep it in place?
I recently joined IBM....I was mapped to an assignment which starts next Monday. Can I reject the project if I don't like it? If yes, how?
For those of you who spent a long time in big law (at least 10 years but more along the lines of 15+), when did you know it was time to do something else (maybe in the law, maybe not)? I don’t know if it’s wfh or just the work now, but I’m finding myself getting amazingly frustrated at things that barely bothered me before. I had an argument with opposing counsel last week and was seeing red for hours after that, and little things seem to bother me much much more than they would have before
I dont know about you guys, but the Naya Rivera news hit me hard.. and I didnt even know who she was. Dont ever take your life for granted, we arent promised tomorrow 🙌🏽 Makes you also think how we can get desensitised to hearing the # of DAILY deaths due to covid.. Remember that they too were fighting for their lives and have left behind devastated loved ones.
