We have many bowls to watch this weekend...

What is your view on NIL deals in college athletics?

I think it's great that student athletes can not just graduate without loan debt, but can now get a small piece of the funds they help generate.

I think it's great that they are getting paid. The colleges and universities make a lot of money off of them more than they give out in the full paid tuition. It's great for them

If coaches can become millionaires the talent should be able to as well

Big fan, they put their bodies on the line and should be compensated for it.

Sorry, but I grew up in a time when pro players -- classified as anyone who ever got paid for the sport they played -- couldn't compete in the Olympics. This new rule basically turns college football programs into a minor league. The superstars get rich, but the big guys who clear the way for the halfback or keep the linebackers off the QB get the black and blue while the golden boys get the green. I'd like to see a world where athletes paid as game players and not entertainers. The funds generated by successful football programs should go to support the academics, keep costs down so someone can get a degree without being in debt for 20 years.

They're making millions and they should be able to! It's been too long since the colleges have been making money of their NIL.

Hypothetically, if BBB was delayed and brought to the Senate floor next year (let's say February 2022) and passed, and the January 1st date for ending Roth conversions is left unchanged, what would happen to Americans who performed After-Tax 401k to Roth conversions in January? Would 401k custodians have to reverse the transactions and somehow factor in gains earned in users' Roth accounts since the conversion? Could there be penalties?

I love my SO. We’ve been together for nearly a decade and are talking marriage. I know being with him though will require living far from my family. I love my family and dread the thought of being far from them. My SO has been transparent about wanting to return to his home country. I don’t want to lose him but I also dread being far from my family. What’s the right call here? Fwiw he’s lived in my home country for about a decade now but has been able to visit his pretty easily (cont)

Additional Posts in Student Loans

Damn LIBOR rate up again...

I have a 25K loan from my MBA. I paid off 100k whole, after graduation. 3 years ago, I moved my loan from federal to private ( SOFI) account. I recently lost my job. I have applied for unemployment, as the severance that I received will only cover for 2 months. Together my husband and I used to make less than 250k after tax. Now, with a loss of pay , we are going to make less. Do you think I will be eligible for Loan forgiveness?

Curious to know how much your student loans were when you graduated from your program, how much you’ve paid off so far, and your age. If you have any varying factors too, like kids, income range, etc. Just trying to see if I’m on track or slacking in life. I am 34 yo, i graduated with 95k in student loans, i currently have 85k left and i make 85k in come. I’m also a single mom with two kids. Just praying for 100% student loans forgiveness. Wishful thinking???
