Bain & Company Hello, I received an offer as a Senior Practice Manager at Bain. The profit sharing range is 0-12% in the offer letter. Is it typical to receive the midpoint (6%)? Also, what do the annual salary increases typically look like? Any insights are much appreciated. Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company

Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

You have to evaluate on the future of the company, and where you are in life. If you are in your early 20s.... WHY NOT! if it does not work out, you can easily find a job in 2 years.
Yea. I suppose I could do that!
That all depends on the company. The shares could make you wealthy someday, or they may be worthless. If you have a lot of confidence in the company and its product or mission, it might be worth taking the offer. It's also worth thinking about the startup culture you could be walking into, that can really wear on someone.
Thanks for the advice
Not all equity is created equal. If you hit the lotto and the startup takes off, you're golden. My willingness to take the risk is based on my conviction about the company and where I'm at in life. Now that I'm older and have kids, I'm a lot more risk averse than I was earlier in my career.
Yea. Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the advice
I could never. That's wayyy too much risk in my opinion.
Yea I totally understand that

I think it depends on your risk tolerance. I would only take that kind of risk if I had a financial cushion.
I do not. But also don't want a massive risk in this current climate
