I think it’s over with my SO of 3 years. He tells me he loves me and wants to work things through but has lied to me several times in the past - some which were the same mistake three times. My dad who lives in Asia just announced that he had a medical issue. I’m starting to enter the age where I’m going to take care of him financially. It’s a $2,000 hospital bill which in the US is nothing compared to what it represents there (which he can’t afford). He’s going to be fine! Just wanted to share with this group as many of you can understand what it feels like to support your parents when they’re old, not the other way around. I feel so blessed I can help him. 🙏🏽

My family mistreated me when I was younger, and now that I don’t live at home, they don’t call or bother to look for me, because frankly, I think they have a hard time admitting what happened - and will never apologize to me either. If I don’t call, or occasionally go see them during the holidays, we would never talk. Some of them are growing old (health-wise), and I’m scared this entire situation is just irreparable. Has anyone ever gone through anything similar? Any advice or thoughts?

My last therapist keeps coming up in my mind. I left her when I moved to a new area before COVID dug in and frankly it felt like leaving a girlfriend. She also disclosed in the final session that she was a member of AA and knew several of the people I occasionally discussed from the rooms. Her knowledge of the program certainly built trust with me early on, but it has been two years. I discussed it with my current therapist but she’s still in there. Any advice?

I met a girl 2 months into my 6month exchange in NYC. I enjoyed her company and we had fun together. She is really busy (IB) but we made time for each other. so it was late night and weekend hangout. When i was leaving to my home country in UK, we said we would try to make it work. Now that i am home, it has become difficult.
