@OP, their brand speaks for itself and they don't need to waste $ by putting their name on a building. I'm sure they'd rather give that naming money to their employees to keep them happy
Surprised no one has given the real answer yet - our offices are typically not large enough to justify naming rights. Big 4 offices typically take up a greater % of building space and are therefore more likely to be offered a place to put their name on the building
McK occupies the entire 1 Jermyn building in London and still doesn't have the name noticeably displayed, so little or no branding is not just because of space occupied. The same applies in other cities where McK has most of a building.
^why would that be bragging, BCG1? A truly progressive and (imo) educated company would have gender neutral bathrooms in addition to/instead of gendered ones.
Discreet doesn't mean hidden. It means we are selective about how we share our name.
Yes, and you are being much less selective and restrictive now. The brand is actively in many more places than ever before, that is less discreet. Not saying that is a bad thing
As I recall, the McK office at Number 1 Jermyn Street in London has a discrete nameplate at the entrance. But it's off the beaten path so it would be hard to even notice. But otherwise, yeah, no public real world profile.
Great iced coffee at BCG NY office
Bain has its name on a building in Dallas
1 Jermyn St is an incredible office
My intern has an ATK phone charger 🤷♂️
Yeah but how many people have heard of the MBB firms to know to look outside of our little world? Considering how few seem to even know PwC I'll bet that number is small, and they're fine with that.
Google BCG New York office. It's incredible
I personally think our LA office is nicer with its 50 foot ceilings and 52nd floor view
I'm so jealous of that NY office. And if the LA one is comparable, that one too.
BCG2 before you respond let me just tell you that it's safe to assume McK2 knows what the word "selective" means, so providing a definition will not be necessary. Thanks
Usually how many people are aligned to each office? Does everyone know everyone?
Atlanta was reasonably small, ~100 consulting staff. Pretty much everyone knew everyone; but we also had a rep for being a friendlier than average office at a friendlier than average firm.
LA was about 200 consulting staff
DAL is about same
NYC about 500 consulting
DC 250
BCG6, does the DC office focus on federal clients/projects? Surprised the DC is so large given the lack F500 presence in the DC area (Marriott, Hilton, Cap One, Fannie, Freddie aside)
Not really
Def some federal work but they're part of northeast system so they do a variety
BCG6, what MBA programs does the DC office recruit from? Do they have the same targets as the NY/SF offices?
