2011 grad. I had a little over 200k. Refinanced twice. My last refi was in August 2016. My balance was $174,000 at that time and is down to about $78,700. I have a 10 year loan, 2.95% fixed.

Tell me more abt refinancing please?? Mine are w nelnet and between 6-8% smh

I had about 180k, mostly law school. I’m down to $80k and will pay it off when the interest payments start! I’ve continued paying during the interest freeze.

$10K undergrad, $20K law school

uplifting

60k law school. Lucky not to have undergrad debt. Haven’t started paying yet.

Graduated with $200k of debt, most ($165k) was from law school. Down to $165k now and have been putting monthly loan payments into a savings account. I’ll dump that account into my loans if/when the interest freeze stops. Hoping to put all my bonuses towards loans. Goal is to be sub- $100k by December (between monthly payments and bonus), and at ~$15k by Dec 2023

75 k law school. Already paid off 21,000 this year and planning to pay off another 21,000 by year end.

Thoughts on best (preferably free) credit cards? Thinking of opening another. I've only ever had these:

- Uber (used to be 4% cash back on dining; they've since updated this to 5% uber cash. I never use uber so I let this card expire)
- SavorOne from Capital One (unlimited 3% cash back dining & entertainment; 2% groceries)

I mainly spend on dining, groceries, gas, and online purchases (amazon, target). Maybe travel when things calm down but not right now.

Curious for everyone’s thoughts on real-estate right now.. my spouse and I are in Denver and trying to buy our first home. To get a halfway decent 3BR home, we have to spend upwards of 500k and still put a little work/investment in to update the home.. I can’t help but feel we should be waiting for 6 more months and seeing if the price drops.. I want to take advantage of the low rates right now, but can’t believe a half million still requires further investment to update the home.

Ok so how do mortgages work in this country? In my country, certain banks you have experience with will give you more flexibility to thank you for your loyalty (e.g flexible terms, better interest, etc). Is it the same here or do I need to shop at every bank?
