What are some struggles you had this past week that you worked through?

Having to issue two-week notices to about 10 clerical staff due to budget cutbacks for 2024. It's always tough to tell someone their job has been eliminated. This group was mostly young women, most with one or two children. As the bearer of bad news, you may take the initial brunt from the employee. You can't vent back and it does no good to tell them how sorry you are for having to tell them this. You have to "put on your game face" and do what has to be done.

Realizing that at the end of the day, my company will prioritize itself. For better or for worse, as an employees it's hard for me to not feel an emotional attachment to the people I've worked with for years. But there's no point in feeling emotional about someone being let go when I don't know the entire story from mgmt's point of view. It still doesn't feel great though and has sent a lot of insecurity throughout the rest of the employees.

It wasn't a real struggle with work, but I have been extremely fatigued and unmotivated. I had to push through all of this to get work done by certain deadlines. I still don't know how I got through all that

Our trusty inventory system decided to take a spontaneous vacation to "Errorville" this week. Gone were the days of clear stock levels and cheerful green "in stock" flags. Instead, everything was shrouded in a fog of red "unknown" indicators and panicked vendor calls. I spent hours digging through cryptic error messages, channeling my inner IT superhero, and finally managed to reboot the system and bring order back to the warehouse chaos.

Any tips for organizing a bedroom, closet, dresser & bathroom? My teen has IADHD, and low executive functioning. Her room looks like a land mine. Clean clothes are mixed in with dirty, her desk is a disaster, she won’t let go of clothes she’s outgrown, drawers are open with clothes hanging out. A therapist said to close her door if we don’t want to see it but it’s more than that. She needs this important life skill & I don’t know how to help. Easier to organize w/o her but that’s not a solution.

It’s been 5 weeks and I haven’t gone a day or night without crying and feeling haunted by them. I can’t eat, can’t sleep, can’t produce quality work, can’t find joy in anything I previously loved. This is the worst physical and psychological pain I’ve ever experienced.

My therapist just told me I'm depressed..do you ever feel like they tell you things you hear a lot or could have figured out on your own? Like take care of yourself, it's ok to feel such and such, etc. I'm still newer to therapy so wondering if that's the common experience? Do you ever have moments where you're like wow that actually is eye opening and I wouldn't have gotten that from reading self help books and websites etc?

Having major imposter syndrome still. I feel like the minute I finally have a grasp, something changes. The law and nuances just seem overwhelming. Maybe it’s just a lack of guidance/uniformity in the US. I’m not sure if I feel this way because it is simply the nature of the work or because I’m just not capable.

I am looking for new opportunities as Supply chain analyst or related area. What is the best way to approach the company in Europe? How does it impact without local language?

It’s very discouraging to continuously receive these rejection emails. With 9 years of supply chain experience, I am not sure why I would not be able to at least get an interview for entry level roles that require no experience. Not just this one pictured but others as well. I’ve applied to maybe 60 positions since May, both mid level and “entry” and no interviews. I’ve had my resume professionally re-written twice. Not sure where the disconnect is. Anyone else going through this same thing?
