Not many options for you unfortunately. Try meditating and also try to minimize the MD exposure as much as possible. If that doesn’t work start looking for another job asap

Take it on the chin. Time to show how tough you are. It sucks but you’ll come out stronger and with more respect if you play it correctly.
Don’t internalize anything that they do or say. Keep everything short, task-oriented and put everything in writing. Keep work at work.
Usually an expectation and comms issue. Be sure to document deliverables with each project and parrot back with MD to gain consensus. Set up or present weekly updates on KPIs. Engage MD with 2 or 3 care challenges with your suggested direct. You are a manager and need to demonstrate critical thinking and decision making skills. Gain alignment and wash rinse repeat cycle of MD's lack of direction and comms skills. Yes, I have had similar difficulty and this method from a coach served me well. Eventhough it was MD's issues. Eventually MD was comfortable and saw the measurements of comms strategy to make all lives easier to work together. It sucks you have to manage your MD this way but with lack of options this is a start before resorting an internal or external change.
