Hi Fishes, I am considering a Senior Engineer role with Alteryx (previously Hyper Anna) Sydney. If it's not too much trouble, I was hoping if anyone here could share their experience of working at Alteryx Sydney in terms of Culture, work life balance, politics, work pressure, people, Leadership and product. Thanks.

For me, I think a pro of OE is taking back some of your own power that corporate America wields against its employees. Most companies are not properly taking care of their employees but instead treating them like a line item, a cost to be optimized or eliminated if needed. Why bust your ass to try to get promoted and get maybe a $10k raise when you can find other work and make way more for doing probably the equivalent amount of work? If we as employees ran our income like a business this would make perfect sense. Optimizing revenue in for the amount of time and output spent. It just makes business sense.

That's a great perspective and so very true!!
Pros: More money, a safety net
Cons: if they find out you will get fired from both.
Tip - don’t tell ANYONE!

That's the secret of OE - you don't talk about it!
OE gave my security. The job market is weird layoffs are happening all the time. Also if I am mistreated somewhere it’s easier to walk away when I have other jobs. The biggest con is the weight of the juggling. Some days I’m in 2 meetings at once or dealing with urgent matters at 2 different places.
