Probably some tax issues for doing this for an extended period of time.
Oh gotcha! Assuming they have offices there
You’ll have to pay the queen a royal tax
Cross border can have very significant tax implications (far beyond variances in states in the US) - for example you may need to pay full taxes to both countries as the US taxes all income subject to tax treaties.
That said, in my experience this comes down to individual client account / DTE discretion. I’ve had people who we approved to work abroad for a month or so and we’ve denied requests. All depends on circumstances (for family v. for fun, you just help land a huge deal v. you’re barely meeting targets).
Okay there are comments here about tax implications but why not just book time to your home office code? Anytime I’ve been out of town while working remote I still book to my home office, no one knows the difference. Even before covid when I’d travel domestically or internationally I’d book to home office. Not saying that is the technically correct way but truly no one is probably ever going to know any different.
