HL is a dumpster fire right now and it’s amazing how poor their reputation is vs what it was on this bowl a year ago.
RSM - have heard good things about RSM, sounds like decent WLB/ culture and about 10 years ahead of BDO/GT. They are the best public accounting firm option outside of Big4
A&M - pays a lot but mostly does sell sides for mom and pop shops from what I hear from those who work there and most of the time they just throw a p&L flat file together and link some basic QoE adjustments and have the buy side team do the heavy lifting. Most of the time won’t supply or quantify NWC adjustments that have QoE implications.
CR and Crowe have sounded like good places to be.
The turnover is related to one city and the people who left had great exit opportunities to lead other groups. The HL posts seem to be made by a couple of analysts in that city that don’t see the shine in FDD anymore and realized they actually have to work. That being said the national group is thriving

I really believe we’re doing great things in the market but I’m not delusional enough to think we’re much different than the rest of the MM.

if you are talking deal size, there is a noticeable gap between big 4 and everyone else. You won’t see multi-billion dollar deals outside of big 4.
If you are talking compensation then A&M, but everyone there is like ex.big 4.
Otherwise it’s just other firms that have fdd teams.
We’ll do multi billion dollar deals but certainly not at the same size and scale of B4. MM in the US is huge.
