The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?

Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

Get a really comfortable office chair!
Another monitor
OP got one monitor. You realistically need two
Ask them for another monitor, and spend the $500 on a chair
32 inch curved monitor. Increases efficiency. Noise cancelling headphones
THIS. I have a 32 inch curved monitor at home and I strongly prefer it to the dual monitor setup I have in the office. Much easier on my eyes/neck and you have more control over how you arrange multiple windows, which amounts to feeling like a lot more space
Go get a Steelcase Gesture/Herman Miller Aeron. The former was standard issue at my first firm, and the latter standard issue at the firm I lateraled to. Both are very quality, and a quality ergo chair is absolutely essential if you’re spending 12+ hours a day at a desk.
There’s a reason firms all pay a ton of money for these chairs, they reduce the risk of ergonomic issues (read:liability).
I noticed a gigantic difference in posture/pain when the pandemic started, before I bought a used Aeron chair in exactly the same size as the one in the office.
I would even dip to spend out of pocket to get one. Mine was used on Facebook Marketplace for 400 or so. Lots of offices have been selling them in masse due to office closures.
My Herman Miller Cosm has been a total lifesaver. Totally agree.
I have four monitors ngl
Standing desk
Second this
Do you have a real desk? I don’t mean one of those garbage $99 ikea ones, I mean a heavy ass 6 foot wide wooden desk that you can spread out papers, multiple monitors, nick nacks/photos of your wife and kids, AND still have room to bang a secretary without knocking things over. They’re overpriced ($1k) to buy new without the corporate multi-buy discount, but get one secondhand on FB/CL for a few hundred bucks. Bankruptcy Auctions are another good place to score office furniture

2nd monitor and Sonos speaker.

VESA arms for your monitors. Or a nice ergonomic desk chair (see if they’ll let you cover the rest of the cost).
good webcam for zoom/teams meetings
Other ergonomic accessories like a keyboard wrist rest, monitor riser, etc. Extra ink and paper.
Noise cancelling headphones
Comfy chair, comfy footrest, desk organization, webcam, punching bag
Coach
I second the footrest. I got a good ergonomic one off Amazon and it has made sitting at my desk so comfortable. I also got a squishy foam pad for the floor for when I’m standing.
Also, a mouse pad with wrist support has been a huge game changer.
