It’s the same as traditional track and then breaks up at principal level. Your case interviews will all be based on your topic, and you will work on cases after you are hired that are on your topic only. It gets a little boring, lack of diversity of cases but if you interested in specialization then it’s great.
Second class citizens, constantly justifying your existence, the more senior you get the harder it is to justify your cost to case teams and targets become harder to hit
Same comp as the non-expert role at equivalent level. E.g. Expert C gets same pay as C. Expert PL same as PL. Same base and bonus (and I found it not so hard to get top bonus as I had my expertise to lean on).
