I’ve been trying to get into the top tier Associate Product Marketing Manager position Google for some time now for just an interview and I feel like business majors somehow have such a stronger chance in getting interviewed especially my business school and I feel really discouraged as an Econ Major and I have a lot of marketing experience that I’ve built over the years. Are there any non-business majors in the tech realm in non technical positions at Google that can advise me?

I interviewed on a Friday, got verbal confirmation from my recruiter on Monday, got offer in writing on Tuesday. If they want you, they’ll move fast.
I guess they don’t want me then. 😢

Unless the firm wants you and can’t live without you (maybe 10% of candidates at most), there is no answer to this question. Every case is different. Most firms will require a group interview x number of people. How close you are to 1 or x in the process can add or subtract weeks. I’ve had processes move in 48 hours. I’ve had some take close to two months.
The person who can help you best for a play by play on what’s happening at the firm is your recruiter assuming they have a close relationship with the recruiting department.

Normally they come back within a week to set up the next round of interview and HR is pretty transparent w the outlook if they like you.

I kind of have to disagree here that recruiting will be transparent with the outlook. If they are taking three candidates to second rounds and you are the least preferred candidate, in no world are they telling you that. They won’t even tell a candidate “hey, an offer is out but you’re our backup”. Rather, it’s just going to be “we are still deliberating and will be in touch.”
But I do agree with you that yes you usually know within one week if you are getting a call back. From there, however, you might not know for a few weeks if you’re getting an offer.
My most recent job, I found out in 2 hours.
Quickest for me was during the second round interview, longest five days including a weekend
1.5 months after the last interview then got the offer
When I lateraled one firm took about a week from app submission to offer (including interviews with 10-11 partners) and another firm took about two and a half months. You never know, different firms work at each own’s pace.

Was told an offer was coming during the interviews. Written offer took about three days.
Please keep in mind folks, you won’t get the majority of jobs you apply for. You won’t hire the majority of applicants when hiring either.
I’d say 3 weeks. But after two, I’d start to put it on the back burner. What you don’t know is what level priority the hire is for the firm, how busy the partner is and how efficient/effective their TA team is.
