I interviewed with them 3 years ago here in Miami, they did say we'll never see the sunlight when leaving the office. I passed because I was studying for the CPA. I remember they were paying around $95k and bonuses were around 20%. This was just for the Associate role. Best of luck.
For someone that interviewed with multiple funds and decided not take a role, here is a realistic exit comp for a fund accounting role. Based off NYC funds.
Base will be anywhere from 100k - 120k. The higher salaries will go to people with 3-4 years of experience.
Bonuses will vary from 10 - 20%. Which is way better than public accounting for non promo years.
So the total comp range is 110k - 140k.
You usually don’t reach 200k+ until you reach around the controller level from what I’ve seen.
Don’t get me wrong the potential to make 140k is great comp coming out of public accounting at the 3-4 years of experience, but fund accounting wlb can vary a lot. It’s not a guaranteed easy gig.
OP I think you should realign your expectations, because I don’t think you will get close to the comp you are looking for with your years and your type of experience.
This is helpful, thank you! Might as well just stay at b4 lol
Where do people get these ideas? Think why would they pay us so much for a non-revenue generating role. Pay would be comparable to other accounting roles
No revenue generating accounting role will pay you 200k with 3-5 yoe (which is how many yoe op said). Unless you're generating much more than that
Wait it’s crazy hours over there? I applied to a management company accounting analyst role and finance & operations associate role over there. Probably won’t get it tho
Is that a beaver
Idk about Blackstone specifically but the people on here are pretty off base. I know plenty of people in fund accounting at PE shops making $200K+
It’s pretty standard for manager level and above, which you can sometimes get into as an experienced senior from public
You need to link me up with those people M1 lol
I don't think the accountants get crazy bonuses. Could be wrong though
No lol bonuses like that are for front office roles. Fund accounting bonuses probably closer to 10k
