I thought it was easy compared to the CPA exam. Helps if you want to get into cost/managerial accounting - controller cfo that kind of thing. Worth approximately $7500 annual raise.
I failed two CPA exams, took a break and completed the CMA and now I’m back to studying for the CPA.
I have both of them. If you have CPA, prob CMA won’t help that much. I have several mangers and even partners asked me what exactly is CMA? Lol. But yah def easier than CPA, pretty much just BEC. I took BEC right after I passed my CMA and scored 88 without studying too much.
I have both the cpa and Cma. Cma is easier. The hardest part for me was the written part. I’m not a good writer. I passed both cma exams on the first attempt and studied two months each but had a good understanding because of the cpa. I don’t think it’s needed if you have a cpa but it sets you apart from the other people if applying for the same role
CMA is a waste of money if you already have your CPA. Only reason to take it is if you aren’t eligible for the CPA or for some reason just don’t want to do the work.
