I got an offer from another company. Currently working in walmart. The main idea behind getting an offer is to ask for a salary rise. I was very much underpaid here. So I thought getting an offer will help increase my pay here in walmart by getting counter offer from them. But i am not sure if I discuss with my manager it will backfire me.Walmart

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Wouldn’t park money for house in the stock market, too volatile. Park it in a good old savings account or CD. Budget your monthly income, see where you can cut expenses and make a point to put a certain amount in each goal each month, don’t just see what you have left at end of the month
To counter this I think it’s good to have a split (50% in stocks and 50% in a cd or high yield savings) ONLY IF you have a 1-2 year minimum before you start actively looking. No sense in missing out potentially two years of a bull market if you aren’t actively looking yet.
I am 25 and paying two mortgages right now (make ~200k). For down payment, I put them in saving for a few month and use it
Gosh help me I know little to nothing abt true saving
Into my roth 401K. I just need to know where to park my money for these 2 goals (house & travel). Is investing in SP index fund a good idea for my house down payment? What about money for traveling?
Don't know if this matters but I have around 10K in my 401k. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Every wk we see posts like this 3-4x. Is the intent to validate yourself or humble brag? Is this really necessary?
Ok we’re being a bit too mean to M1 now.
If time horizon:
<2 years - HY savings
2-5 years - CD tree
>5 years - maybe, maybe consider capital preservation index funds
Buy Bitcoin; borrow against it at 50% ltv to pay your down payment. When it’s $50 k in a year pay your house off.
