But yes you’ll integrate well don’t worry
These countries love foreigners. You’ll be fine
There is more truth to the “Lebanese Mafia” stories than you’d be willing to acknowledge before heading into that environment.
It will get rough, it will get hectic. Your partner might get forced out, then what?
It’s a risk, but the reward is high.
No. Lebanon office mafia won’t let you in. You can’t even kiss their ring
Could you elaborate on what that means concretely? Are you based in the region?
Excuse my ignorance but could someone bring me up to speed with *credible* insights regarding the "Lebanese mafia office" (I feel bad for writing this). What is it all about?
No insights on Lebanon, but a friend of mine said that work life balance and working conditions (caring about your personal life, last minute demands, rudeness) are worse in the middle east compared to the USA because the firms know that there are many fewer competitors that pay comparable amounts. In the USA, a dissatisfied consultant can easily leave to industry or tech and get paid the same or more, but not in the ME. They treat you like more of a captive worker.
