If you have the backup plan , people aligned on that backup plan and your manager’s approval - it should be fine. PTO is a benefit , unless your company has a policy around how many consecutive weeks off you can take. I have done 4 weeks, but that was during the holiday period (Nov / Dec)
Last year I took off 3 weeks for my wedding/honeymoon that’s the most I’ve taken straight but I don’t feel bad about it at all.
I have taken 5 weeks (some was unpaid leave). Just prep properly for how the work will be handled in your absence and have no regrets!!
8 weeks with a non-work related injury. Other than that a couple of times I've taken 3 weeks PTO.

I took a 3 month sabbatical
I received a stipend that, if I’m recalling correctly, was ~30% of my salary. I had to have worked at the company for 1 year before taking a sabbatical and had to stay with the company 1 year after returning or the stipend would be clawed back.
In the US taking more than 2 weeks back to back is more of an exception, where it is common in most countries. Unfortunately, that’s what I’ve seen. However, there are exceptions and you can plan for your time off if your company and manager are supportive.

The tricky part that I forgot to mention is that we technically have unlimited PTO - I'd feel a lot more comfortable about this if I just had PTO that I had "earned" at a set amount
Look it up in your employer’s employee handbook, and check what the longest allowed amount should be for an individual like yourself.
