What is your company's official bereavement leave policy? I just started a new job, and their policy allows for two days if your spouse, child, sibling, or parent passes. One day for grandparent, cousin, or aunt/uncle. Do corporations think it only takes 48 hours to get over a loss like this?

We get 5 days, it is not specific to an immediate family member. You can use it at your discretion, which is appreciated.

Ours was 2 days as well. I championed it to change to 5 days for immediate family and 2 days for extended family.

Mine is 3 working days for immediate families, and 1 working day for non-immediate families.

5 days for immediate family members. 1 day for non immediate family members/friends.

2 days is criminal for immediate family.
We do 5 days but for close family we've allowed extended leaves on a case-by-case basis.

I just started a new job 2 months ago, benefits and PTO don’t start until 90 days in so I still have a month before I can take off any time, and today found out my company doesn’t offer paid maternity leave.
I’m really struggling handling the symptoms and maintaining my full time job. Thinking about looking for a part time job to have more time to myself through the pregnancy since I won’t be getting a paid leave anyways, but lost on where to start looking. Any recommendations?

What if Pakistan and India unite and form one single country ? Imagine the possibilities for our own people. Our cultures are more similar than our differences. After all we (both countries) are children of the same mother who just lived in separate houses (read partition) for 70+ years. All the money spent on military could be used for education , food and scientific development . Together we can be world’s superpower. What’s your take

Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.

I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.

Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.

Should I stay or should I go?

My office location is in Marathahalli and offices are starting from Jan. I am shifting from Mumbai to Bangalore due to work demand. I will be moving with family. What would be the ideal location for me to search flat. I prefer gated community with amenities inside as I have small kid and can take her in the park than going out. How would the rent be? One of my friend has a flat in Ecity gated society with 25k rent. Where can I search for similar society within commutable distance. This is 20+km

I am planning to start IUI cycle this summer and have booked Pfizer vaccine mid April. Two questions (note I recently recovered from Covid so have antibodies)

1) Have unverified maybe misconception that vaccines affect fertility. Any opinions on this? My developing country family is freaking out and suggesting I vaccinate after I get pregnant.

2) My donor is fully vaccinated and did Pfizer, another rumor that it’s better that parents have same vaccine? Is this true?

I am embarking on egg freezing soon and I got some unpleasant news today after a scan. I had a scan 2 months ago and my follicle count was slightly low then. As I was on birth control at the time, I had to go off it and repeat the scan two months later. In the 2nd scan we found that I only had 6 follicles and that we would only be able to get 4-6 eggs per cycle. I am 36 and I decided to start this process now more just as backup. I have never dreamt of being a mother and yet this news has (cont)

I feel like we're affected more than anyone else (except maybe history teachers) by the censorship and critical theory debate. Dealing with books coming on and off the banned list and angry parent emails over curriculum I don't have control over was especially frustrating this year. Hello! First time pregnant. I’m extremely nervous about vaginal birth. Not sure what triggered it, I have extreme anxiety every time I think about it, no joke. I’m still in the early stages but does anyone recommend c sections? Is it a good idea for me to pick C section over vaginal birth even if I don’t have any complications?
