What is your company's PTO carryover policy? At my company, we can carryover 5 days but have to use it by the end of March. I wish we had an option to have it paid out instead.

No carry over, we have “unlimited”

Same here but is it really unlimited for you??

40 hours can carry over. No time restriction on when to use it by, it just becomes part of the following year’s pool of PTO.

We can carry over 40 hrs worth of time and it can be used anytime during the year.

I get 5 weeks + 3 optional holidays since I’ve been with the company more than 20 years and it’s a “use it or lose it” policy.

No carryover either, but would love to have the option to get it paid out. Used to be at a company that did that. On the other hand though, it does make you get serious about taking that time and not losing it because there is nothing else you can do besides take it.

“Unlimited” PTO with no carryover or payout

RTXs is weird... they limit the amount you can carryover based on years of service....

We can carry 10 days and just have to use it the following year. I wish we could get paid out too though

We do not have carry over but we have the ability to ‘buy’ up to a weeks PTO which I think is nice and gives you a lot of time off. I wish we could buy more time from our check or had the option to because I would like to buy two weeks. They used to have carryover but it wasn’t very employee friendly and had to change it because talent kept getting taken due to better PTO being provided

Oh wow I have never heard of a policy like that. We can carry over 120 hours from year to year. No cap on when you have to use it by but you lose anything over 120 hours on December 31st.

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…

Planning a trip to Rome and Naples with day trips to Tivoli and Pompeii. Is 1 week enough? I feel like reading through 3/4 day Rome and 2 day Naples itineraries, the trip seems rushed. I have unlimited PTO but my SO is limited in time (but luckily he can work extra hrs and then use less PTO). I would say max we could do is 1.5 weeks but adding on 3-5 more days seems almost too much? Thoughts? For reference, I did Venice-Florence-Rome in a week and it seemed okay but it also wasn’t as planned out
