Mine are (1) Working with smart people that I learn from (I have worked in industry and really struggled with some of the mediocrity/slower pace). (2) I work my ass off, but I have flexibility on how I do this. (3) I can be an entrepreneur to some extent and control how my practice grows/develops (4) Partner comp is very good.

Learning from different set up/ client/industry. Consulting to me is about gathering good, bad and ugly from all the sides and effectively filtering the right ones to use in future. Meeting different folks and making some extra money.

If the corporate ladder “levels” matter to you as motivation, there are additional levels once you make PPMD. That’s not the motivation for most PPMDs, but can be a goal if that matters to you
Thanks everyone for your point of view. Just trying to identify right purpose for myself to stay in consulting apart from money. May be, me being engineering background feel like I should be in developing something than implementing ready made tech solutions.
