I gave 4 rounds of interview for Manager 1 but the final decision was that I am unable to raise the bar. The recruitment coordinator asked me if he can keep my details or share my details to his colleagues so that they can check if I fit in some other role in future. Any idea about the cool off period?Amazon

Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

Says who? A few "experts" at the economist? Idk if I'm taking their word for this. Seems to me like this could be true for certain positions that offer a lot of upward mobility, but typically I still think moving companies is the best way to increase salary
I think articles like that are just published as clickbait and engagement farming. If people click on the link because they're skeptical, hey, it's still a page view for the site. And like a lot of business journalism, you can always find a handful of experts that will go along with any counter-intuitive premise.
What are the salaries for an English Lecturer at IUK ( international university of Kuwait?
Here’s the thing. If someone is relying on a yearly raise then no, they’ll never see a material bump and will likely feel stuck. It’s because they are.
But, if that same person is growing their skills and influence, and negotiating even as an internal candidate, there’s no reason they can’t make the chunk moves.
I started with my current company (3 acquisitions ago) in 2013 as an analyst. Moved to Sr. Analyst within 6 months. I was making just shy of $100k TC as an analyst. Last year I cleared $455k as a Director.
I’ve tested the waters out there and nobody can match compensation unless they’re also asking for all my free time. I figure I’ve chosen well.
Take everything you read with a grain of salt. They are often just trying to sell ad space by getting people riled up, just like you are. Never take advice from an article, always do your own research and make choices that are in your best interest.
Right now I personally am skeptical to move
Hmm I don't know about this. I dont' think there are very many companies that reward loyalty anymore. Some companies don't even give a yearly raise.
I have seen it both ways. Job hopping gives you a raise. Staying at a job gives you a raise. I don’t know. I guess all you can do is keep looking for higher paying jobs and if you find one you hop if not, you stay.
The cost of training new employees is likely up, so some companies' disinformatsia teams are hard at work trying to cut jib switching...or perhaps they're tired of paying ever mounting salaries to get the same job done.
