I agree with Claims Adjuster 1, the market is really rough right now. It doesn't hurt to be looking for opportunities, but be prepared to be looking for a bit because of how bad the job market is.

Tough choice. Is it the money that brings you joy or is it the "adventure" of helping others that does it for you? Could you ride it out to retirement and be happy? If not, then a change may be needed.
There is a lot to be said for stability right now. Do you feel you are at risk of a layoff? Because if you head into tech, even if you can find entry-level work, there is no guarantee of how long any job will last.
There is definitely no harm in looking around and seeing if you can find better than your current situation.
Yep. No way I can leave after 18 years. At year 20 I'll be at 29 days off a year plus 4 PH. Pension and 401k is good.
