What’s an ideal background for junior corp dev professional (deal execution, no as much integration)? IB? FDD? CDD? FP&A?

What kinds of books, podcasts, TED talks, etc would you recommend for a recent college grad who has low self esteem, is professionally immature and for whom the prospect of entering the world of work is daunting and stressful?

IMO I’ve never seen more pharma jobs open. And I keep seeing so many people in non-pharma looking for new jobs... well, we’ve got them. What’s the disconnect? Why do you think people won’t make the switch?

Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? The division I’m currently in seems like there are no good opportunities, and I have the funds available to finish my undergraduate full time (Canada). I applied to Amazon before for a highly senior position and made it to final interview so I think I would have a better chance for a new grad type role.

I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row for when I quit here at the end of next month… I am taking a break to figure out what I want to do, so I will be unemployed for a time. Do I have to notify the ARDC of this change (IL licensed)? Do I have to immediately switch to inactive status or can I stay active in case I decide to keep practicing law just a few months later? For buy side analysts, are there logical career moves one can make after having a couple of years of working experience?

I’m in my 2nd year in audit. I want to pivot into management consulting within a big 4 or MBB. Has anyone seen someone make this lateral movement? I’m not sure how feasible that is and what steps to take. I’m also down to discuss further with whoever is comfortable in connecting.

I received a proposal for a Senior Analog Designer role from Bosch in the same city where I am currently working.
Should I wait and build up a few more years of experience before accepting a Senior role or should I jump in and work to fill the gap?

Hi I am through the technical interview for Oracle fusion middleware admin position, with 3.2 years experience. Had call with HR and she mentioned only 45% hike is possible that would be around 6.5 LPA. I am expecting around 8LPA. Every night for like the past month I’ve been getting incredibly emotional about adulthood. I miss the lack of responsibility, the simplicity of life, friends were always around, and less pressure to be successful.

I'm an investment banker and in late stages of a couple CorpDev roles of Fortune 200 companies. Both roles report to Head of CorpDev. I would be interested to understand the typical career progression. Assuming Head of CorpDev will stay in position for the next 5-10 years, what is the expectation of upward mobility then? Is it more common to progress through jumping around to different companies?

Why do corp dev roles for PE backed companies pay more than corp dev roles at corporations? Also, what’s the comp range you guys are seeing? I’m getting offers for 120K-140K and this just seems really low.
