CV has a 100% fee based comp structure. Starting at principal level it becomes much more competitive than almost any other firm out there (incl. 3-4 years MBB partners). This combined with the phenomenal growth the firm has, makes it a good place to get going - if you are able to sell work.
@McK1 wont debate the veracity of any of P1’s claims (fwiw ex MBB here as well) but you should keep in mind CV operates much more leanly than MBB - it’s effectively all consultants with minimal support staff, a steeper pyramid (there’s an extra 2-3 layers vs McK), a multistaffing model for their EMs, skew toward higher margin private sector strategy/research, and significant YoY growth for a rate card that’s (just guessing here) 30-50% cheaper (in the US only, no less). In that sense I wouldn’t be surprised a principal/MD/Partner at CV could match MBB comp for the high performers particularly with an eat what you kill model. Maybe not SPs but I could see P

In short - no, it’s not B4 Director equivalent. Principal at CV would be equiv to M/SM/P, MD/Partner to P/SP at MBB
