Currently…100 percent. When the bubble bursts…better have a plan B in mind as a senior associate at Big4.

Oh, and SA, big 4 firm, boomerang. Spent several years at senior director and vp level before coming back. Last company was acquired. Doing great as an MD, winning work and keeping my growing team engaged. At my age P did not make sense giving vesting period (I’m only planning on sticking around for 5 years). I’ve been lucky to have had a nice career. Happy and healthy. I hope you are as well.

Same as other practices in tax - 70 to 90%. The difference is you may not have the same spike in utilization during a compliance deadline.

Most of my group is at or above 100%

I think the quality of tax returns being filed has gone down significantly. One of the reasons is that the “old school” mentality of if you are assigned a tax return you work as many extra hours to complete the return, however people cap their hours and those returns either don’t get done or they are done poorly and it’s better to get filed then to get it late. Leaders in PA need to factor in that the newer generation will not just “get it done” regardless if the amount of extra hours.

I left public accounting for industry about 1.5 years ago. I was a senior in a PCS group. I'll be looking to get back into PA in a PCS group once I get licensed. Does being out of PA for 2 years mean I should look for an experienced staff role, or could I get a senior position? My industry role isn't tax related, so I would have to get back up to speed on all the tax changes in the past couple of years.
