Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

“just to confirm my understanding <say what you think you heard>"
Asking them to speak slower sometimes helps. I’ll also repeat things back to make sure I’ve understood it completely. Over time it does get easier
The struggle is on both the sides. They too have difficulty understanding your accent. Set some ground rules like talk slowly, use simplified sentences, etc. If it's a Skype meeting, using IM while the conversation isn't going as you expected are somethings you can do.
Completely agree with ey1
Dude I’m Indian and I can’t even comprehend Indian accents for folks in GDS. I’d also like to know
Overtime - it takes practice... my first year I could barely comprehend and it’s so awkward to ask my team ...later on you’ll pick it up
The struggle is real
Pace your talking and always summarize what they say to confirm your comprehension. Somewhat applicable to any type of job (those who’ve worked in call centers can relate to what I mean).
Our GDS resource visited us recently, and I noticed that we are using several colloquialisms when taking to them. Minimizing the use of these phrases could be helpful!
