Pecorino, white Italian varietal. I've had great $15 dollar bottles that drink way above their weight. I think the name is confusing and makes it hard to market in the US.

smart

Don’t overthink it. If you see a grape you aren’t familiar with, grab it and give it a try. Try some off the beaten path countries as well.

Had a really cool Georgian wine. Medium body like a Pinot, but was super vegetal. Lots of beets vibes. Georgia is the “home of wine” so was a really cool experience. Would recommend for something different. Grapes were aladustri and tsitska. Otherwise I’d recommend an Austrian Grüner Veltliner for something that’s super tasty and still decently mainstream

Saw this post by Bloomberg business and found it laughable. I’ve only really gotten into whiskey, specifically bourbon over the past year or so but I’ve never really thought of the color as a driving factor in what I choose or what drives a bottles value

I just bought an Alexa for my grandma's birthday. Her old radio broke and she's been kind of sad because she can't listen to her favorite music anymore while cooking, so I thought this would be a good pick. She'll have her favorite music right there.

Later today my grandpa tells me she's not been asking Alexa for her favorite music, but for her radio stations instead 😭😂

Cavatappi in Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce

Tired of of the same old boring tomato marinara sauce? Try a roasted red pepper cream sauce!

Red bell peppers are roasted in the oven until sweet. It is then blended with caramelized onions, garlic, red pepper flakes, sun dried tomato paste, and cream into a silky, smooth and velvety sauce. Finish the sauce with a knob of butter and coat your pasta. Cavatappi works well here. Don’t forget to shave a little Pecorino Romano

I need advice from the collective. It seems like there is a trend to sell wine in unique bottles. The only problem with this, those bottles will not fit into my wine fridge. Has anyone transferred wine to standard bottles and are you concerned about the wine one it hits the air? I’ve looked at vacuum stoppers but not sure if this is a good idea or not.

Big fan of this one. Not super bold. More velvety. Subtle leathery taste, hints of vanilla! I picked up a half case for 120, or $20 a bottle! I may actually buy more. 8/10 for price and taste. Very elegant.

Out of pure curiosity, does anyone in here currently work in the wine industry? I’m interested to get a sense of experience levels here. (Not that it matters at all! We all learn at our own pace.)

I work in wine media now, but pre-pandemic was a Sommelier in restaurants in NYC.

Have any of my fellow corporate wine professionals made their way onto Fishbowl yet? 🍷
