What's up with mid year layoff rumors. Anyone else heard these rumblings ?

Most staff/sr assoc would make 80% of salary for the next 4 months if fired & yet firms are considering pay cuts.

Like at this point just fire me idk what kool aid some of you are drinking

Have an interview with a company I really want to work for tomorrow. My last job I was laid off b/c of an acquisition&recently accepted a job at a diff company b/c I couldnt afford not to. I got this invite shortly after. The place I’m interviewing at the job wouldn’t start til next year. I dont want to seem like a job hopper. Do i tell them I’m at a new role or just not bring it up? The acquisition was public so they can see Im no longer employed with the most recent work history on my resume

Is it any surprise we’re seeing mass layoff in tech? Years of rich friends hiring rich friends with no work ethic has lead us here. I know way too many tech people who work maybe an hour a day followed by errands and traveling. A lot of getting in these places is who you know, apparently that doesn’t work out like it used to. The amount of people who worked for Meta, Apple, Amazon, etc for a few months / maybe a year is astounding. it’s around that time frame a boss can tell if you’re worth it

First year here. Do associates get fired for not meeting the billable requirements?

I work on a consulting team at a large software company. I’m a job hopper, around 2 years each at my first and second jobs and a little over a year at this job. I recently found out they’re shutting my team down. We’re not fired, but they’re transferring us to the core implementation team, which has a horrible reputation for malignancy, overworking, and isn’t at all what I was hired to do. How hard is it going to be to for me to find a new job? Should I just stay and try things out? What next?

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud… I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. I got offer from IBM in my home location itself, with 18.5LPA fixed for 9 yea in automation testing. Here my manger is confusing me like layoff will after u join in IBM.. but I am in cts as 11.2 only .. but now I got SA promotion with 10 % hike .. and also no retnation for me also not there whether I can choose IBM or stay here .. kindly help guys .

Do you take the current economy into consideration when receiving job offers? For example you receive a good offer from a company like Meta/TikTok but are hesitant because they could be laying off soon or rescind an offer versus a lower offer at a more traditional and stable company that tends to be less reactionary with regards to layoffs? I work in industry and I’m on a project now where a Senior Partner and Partner are on most our calls and seem very involved in delivery. Entity A and B have a partnership such that me working for entity B will create conflict of interest. Should I disclose my relationship with entity A during the initial interview with entity B’s hiring manager? If so, what should I say? I don’t want my volunteer job at entity A potentially jeopardizes my full-time job at entity B.
