Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.

How do you define scaring them off? If they believe you are great fit, and they would be able to give a competitive offer, they shouldn’t get scared. If they are dropping the ball because of competition, tough luck. Go ahead with the ones that care for you
I generally let recruiters / hiring managers know if they ask outright or when it comes to negotiations. Them knowing that you are interviewing can speed up the process and can also give you a bump if they want to be more competitive.
Otherwise I try not to let them know too much in case the other opportunity goes cold or drags out for a long time.
My latest round of interviewing about 4 months ago were all told about active interviews and I would think they should expect it anyway. Personally, I think it got some of them to move it along vs dragging out the process.
Yeah, I feel like if they are truly interested in you and know that you’re in talks with other companies it will help you get an offer faster. I think without saying it most companies should assume you’re in talks with other companies as that’s how the interview process works for most people. If it doesn’t come up earlier it always comes up for me when salary discussions start because I will leverage other offers to get a better offer wherever I actually want to go based on the interviews.
If they ask I tell, most seem to ask me
Depends. Usually not until it comes to salary negotiation/discussion, if needed
I usually don't say anything unless the companies ask me in the latter stages of interviewing
I generally hold off until I feel like things are moving along - so maybe after the second round? I feel like that's a nice point. And they're expecting it anyway, I doubt you've scared them off

I don't think you need to say anything until you really need to. I'd wait until you get an offer from one and then inform the others that you have an offer in hand. If they are really interested in you they will accelerate the process and may sweeten their offer.
I'm different from everyone else. In both times I've been in this situation, I've told all parties straight out the gate. The first time was pretty cut and dry and I had to decide between two offers. I think helped negotiations. The most recent experience was only a few weeks ago. I know it helped me get a higher salary because both companies were doing what felt like a bidding war to get me to choose them. I go with honesty and early. Transparency has served me well in every aspect of my life.
